Design partner for ambitious teams

I met Will while interviewing for a senior engineering position at Sunbound, and I became eager to join so that he and I could work together. I knew that we would collaborate to produce beautiful and functional user interfaces, serving our customers excellently, and that's exactly what we've done. We completed several large and impactful projects together; my engineering team can attribute much of the pride we feel in our results to Will's guiding vision throughout. His design system and Figma project files are well-structured and scalable, perfectly-suited to the modern AI-driven development model (it's so easy to build UIs using his assets!) He maintains an ongoing dialogue with our team to ensure we have the resources and understanding that we need to build top-notch software, fast!! Will is passionate about his work and he is a valuable asset to forward-thinking companies.

I had the privilege to work under Will's design leadership on a long-term project from 2021 to 2022 during his time at Even Financial. Will not only immediately took to his role, but connected on a personal level with each of us as team members. He was always a source of motivation and guidance for us in the design team and consistently advocated for the importance of our work within the project's company. Will immediately had a vision of where to steer the product from a design and strategy perspective, while focusing on truly empowering us with the freedom to do our best work. I've worked with Will formally for the last year, and have collaborated as friends for a few years. Will reported to me during his time at Even Financial as our Lead Product Designer. In that role, Will was given ownership of a fragmented team that needed management, definition, and process. After being hired he took control immediately and in short order set Design into a long term and scaleable framework. He was an expert manager, a strong collaborator, and a cornerstone of our team. He is able to both manage designers and create strong designs. I would recommend him for any design position at any size company. He is a great leader and I will miss his wisdom and focus.

I had the pleasure of working with Will during our time at Wonder. I was part of the committee that hired him and worked closely with him to rethink the client experience & interface, the Wonder brand and rebuild a style-guide and UI/UX kits from the ground up in a matter of months. Will inherited an app that lacked a design system and through quick iterations (often proposing entire new experiences in a matter of days), was able to help the team reimagine how Wonder could look & feel. He ultimately helped me drive the implementation of an experience that felt modern, easy-to-use and intuitive leading to increased engagement. Will was also instrumental in making design thinking a priority amongst a product/engineering org which hadn't made design a priority before. He led design sprints, was always open to feedback and educated team members on the value of “less is more.” I'll keep referring Will to companies seeking better pixels and would love to work with him again.
